Advanced Smartcard Solutions and Enabling Technology (ASSET)
 From mass transit to bus systems, parking meters, access control,
tollways, identification and financial applications, VFJ readers
and management systems have been designed to provide the intelligent
ASSET for all smart card applications.
Unlike numerous contact and contactless smart card readers
which provide for a low level of card and reader interface,
the VFJ design concepts aim to provide a high level of "intelligent"
commands which are easy to understand and use. VFJ readers
can therefore be conveniently adapted to various contactless
smart card concepts and create a broad base of business acceptance.
A modular concept is adopted in the design of VFJ products.
With the appropriate selection of modules, users can develop
extensions of existing products and new product concepts more
rapidly than any others in this field. It becomes unnecessary
to develop new system software on every occasion.
With a real time multi-tasking operating system provided, all
necessary functions intended for the applications can be optimized
without extensive efforts on the part of system developers.
The VFJ card access management design concepts provide for
a high level of security, incorporated on the card, in the
reader and within the controlling device. Through software
Smartcard Management system or use of SAM, users have full
control and management of security.
The intrinsic quality of VFJ design concept stems from the
in-depth understanding of the Mifare system and other card
types combined with vast experience in the design of real-time
operating systems. This has made VFJ a fore-runner in this
field.
Pioneer Work in China
- VFJ first introduced Philips MAD to China and have it used
as the standard for all provincial tollway fare collection
systems.
- VFJ is the first to apply the use of MIFARE1 contactless card
in a tollway fare collection system (Guangxi Province)
- VFJ is the first to apply SAM in a tollway fare collection
system (Jiejiang Province)
- VFJ is the first to apply Mifare technology in a metro
system in China (Shanghai Metro)
- VFJ is the first to introduce readers for both ISO14443
